## Premium structure

Cover may be issued on a Rate for Age (stepped) premium type or a Level premium structure. The Premium Conversion Facility allows conversion from the premium type shown in the schedule to a Level premium structure, or from one Level premium structure to an alternate Level premium structure (same or shorter term), at any time without further medical evidence; a new policy is issued based on current age of the life assured. Suspension of Cover is only available where the premium type is Rate for Age.

## Suicide exclusion period

13 months of the risk commencement date or, if cover under this appendix has been reinstated, the date of reinstatement. This exclusion applies to any subsequent benefit increase you make.

## Future-insurability options

Optional Life Future Insurability Benefit (if selected): original Life Cover Benefit may be increased by up to 20% of the original Life Cover Benefit or $100,000 (whichever is greater) every three years on the anniversary date, without further medical evidence. Total maximum amount that can be added is the lower of twice the original Life Cover Benefit or $1,000,000. Expires on the 60th birthday of the life assured. Special Events Increase Facility (inbuilt): on listed special events (birth/adoption of child, marriage/civil union, separation/divorce, dependent child tertiary education, child commencing secondary school, new home loan or increase, caring for close relative, annual salary increase, death of spouse/partner) the Life Cover Benefit may be increased without medical evidence; maximum per event is the lower of 50% of original Life Cover Benefit or $250,000; total increases capped at the lower of 100% of original Life Cover Benefit or $750,000; life assured must be aged 55 or under; request must be made within 12 months of the event.

- AIA will not pay any benefit under this appendix where the life assured dies or becomes terminally ill as a direct or indirect result of an intentional self-inflicted act (whether sane or insane) within 13 months of the risk commencement date or, if cover under this appendix has been reinstated, the date of reinstatement. This exclusion applies to any subsequent benefit increase you make.
- AIA will not pay a Parents Grieving Benefit if death directly or indirectly arises from an injury caused by you, or the child's parents or guardian(s).

## Claim payment options

Life Cover Benefit is paid as a lump sum upon death. Terminal Illness Benefit (up to 100% of Life Cover Benefit) is treated as an early payment of the Life Cover Benefit, reducing it by the amount paid. Specified Terminal Conditions Benefit (lower of 30% of Life Cover Benefit or $250,000) is treated as an early partial payment of the Life Cover Benefit, reducing it by the amount paid; premium adjusts to reflect reduced cover. Bereavement Support Benefit ($15,000 or Life Cover Benefit, whichever is lower) is treated as an early payment of the Life Cover Benefit, reducing it by the amount paid. Repatriation Benefit (5% of Life Cover sum assured, up to $20,000) is treated as an early payment of the Life Cover Benefit, reducing it by the amount paid; may be paid in addition to Bereavement Support Benefit but combined payments will not exceed the Life Cover sum assured.
